Recently we got the news about Motorola’s plan of bringing back its famous foldable RAZR smartphone back, now the latest news is that the company has filed a patent application which features a foldable smartphone with some new features. This upcoming device can be folded which turns a smartphone into a tablet or vice versa. We have already seen foldable smartphones hitting the market and there are many other smartphone makers that are lined up to launch their foldable devices.
Motorola has filed a patent application at USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) and also at the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization). The patent contains design drawings what illustrate other modes of interaction through various gestures such as simple touches, pressures, pinch zoom etc. There are also two cameras to detect the user face which will allow the device to understand which half of the display is being viewed.
Since it is just a patent filing we don’t have any idea on the device as of now and we are not sure if it is going to make its way into the market. It is going to be really interesting if this the RAZR phone that was in the last week, but everything has to be taken with a pinch of salt, as nothing is confirmed as of now
