Vivo today unveiled its all-new Vivo APEX 2019 smartphone. A day after Meizu launching the world’s first holeless smartphone, Vivo also revealed that the APEX 2019 will be missing the speaker grill and hardware buttons. The company also announced the beefy specifications of the device starting with the 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform. It also packs 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
Talking about the build quality, the APEX 2019 comes in a ‘Super Unibody’ design made of glass. While it will be difficult to hold, the seamless design makes the device look premium. The hardware buttons on this device are replaced by pressure sensors and capacitive buttons. Also, there is no charging port, speaker grill or camera bump on the all-new Vivo APEX 2019. Vivo is also using a liquid cooling plate instead of liquid cooling pipe for better dispersion of heat.
There are magnetic pins on the rear bottom for connecting a magnetic charger. On the front is the 6.39-inch fullscreen display with a thin bottom chin. Intrsotly, the company has skipped offering the front-facing camera on this device. While the Vivo NEX 2 also lacks the front camera, it actually comes with dual displays for using the rear camera for selfies. In terms of optics, there is a 12MP + 13MP dual camera on the rear with LED flash.
The whole display on this Vivo APEX 2019 will act as a fingerprint sensor. It will be available in White, Silver, and Gray color options. The device lacks the speaker grill and SIM card slot. Since this is a concept device, there is no pricing or availability details.
