Upcoming Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro
The Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro Rugged Smartphone that was leaked yesterday has been silently unveiled in Finland today. The same has been confirmed by the official press release from the company and as mentioned yesterday, this new device is a rugged smartphone like its predecessors. The device will be available only in Black color variant and is priced at 499 Euros (approx $555, Rs. 40,000) and will be going for sale starting 31st January in Finland. There isn’t any update on the availability of the phone is other markets as of now.
The Galaxy XCover Pro Rugged Smartphone from Samsung will be coming with a punch-hole display with thin bezels and furthermore, it also comes with dual rear cameras and a big battery that supports fast charging. The device features a 6.3-inch TFT panel with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolutions and can be operated with gloves and wet hands.
There is an Exynos 9611 SoC to power the device coupled with 4GB of RAM and has 64GB of onboard storage that can be extended further up to 512GB via microSD card. The smartphone is IP69 and MIL-STD-810G certified rugged smartphone which is built to withstand shocks, water, dust, and other harsh climatic conditions. The device measures 165.2 x 76.5 x 9.94 mm and weighs 217 grams.
The phone is powered with 4,050mAh battery on the back that also supports 15W fast charging and the interesting point here to be noted is that the battery can be removed. Furthermore, there is an LED assisted and autofocus enabled dual-camera system with 25MP main camera sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. There is a 13MP selfie camera placed on the top-left.
It comes out of the box with Android 9 Pie operating system with the companies’ own One UI on top. It comes with a push to talk button and one Samsung is also promising utmost security with this smartphone via it’s Knox security system. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the left of the device. Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro rugged Smartphone is an upcoming device whose images have surfaced online. The device with the model number SM-G715F has leaked and like all the rugged smartphones even this device will be coming IP68 water resistance to a depth of 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes. Furthermore, it will be coming with US Military Standard MIL-STD 810G certification to withstand a fall of up to 1.2 meters and will be dust and shockproof.
The device will be coming with a Push to Talk button with the support for quick messages. From the image, we can see that the power button is placed on the left of the smartphone while the volume rockers are placed on the right. The front-facing camera can be seen placed on the left-top of the device but nothing about the specifications is confirmed as of now. The device is expected to be going for sale in Europe in early February this year.
According to rumored specs of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro rugged smartphone, it will be featuring a 6.3-inch Full HD+ Infinity-O LCD screen display. Under the hood, it will be powered with Exynos 9611 10nm processor coupled with Mali G72 GPU. Furthermore, it will be coming out of the box, with an Android 10 operating system with Samsung One UI 2.0.
There will be 4GB of RAM on the device while the internal storage is 64GB which can be extended up to 512GB via microSD card slot. It will be coming with 25MP main rear-facing camera with LED flash and a secondary 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. On the front, there is a 13MP front-facing camera and has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. To power it there will be a 4020mAh removable battery.
